The Mat-Su Sertoma Club was pleased to donated funds to provide a Serene Central Alert System to a deaf woman who lives in the Mat-Su valley, which was facilitated by Assistive Technology of Alaska (ATLA). The individual’s home was not equipped with appropriate signaling devices for the deaf, which are imperative to safety in the home.
The Serene Central Alert System is a vibrating dual alarm clock that has a bright built-in flasher, a selectable yet pleasant loud audible sound and two bed shaker jacks. This system provides the safety that is essential for the deaf and hard of hearing to live independently.
